Althea “Thea” Louise (Moore) Johnson, 52, was born on Dec. 30, 1965, in St. Louis to Arthur Raymond and Betty Ann Moore. She passed away after a short battle with cancer in Mercy Hospital in Springfield on Aug. 31, 2018.

After growing up in Oklahoma with her brother and sister, Thea had three daughters.

Her friends and family will remember her as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She lived every day like it was her last and spent her days as a carefree spirit enjoying simple things in life. She also spent time sitting at the kitchen table listening to George Strait and was known as “the lady in the chair!” Thea had an infectious laugh and though her time on earth was short, her love and commitment will remain with us. Thea will be forever missed.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother and grandson, Michael.

Althea is survived by her husband of 10 years, Harold Johnson; her children, Cassandra Moore Bell and (Chris), Samantha Mullins and (James), and Angelina Aughtman; siblings, Stephanie Davison and (Odel), Anthony Moore, Shannon Scott and (John), Susan Hanes; her mother-in-law, Louise Johnson; sister-in-law, Charlene Page and (Dan); brothers-in-law, Jeffery Chuck Johnson and (Shelly) and Walter Johnson and (Denise); as well as eight grandchildren and one great grandson; many nieces, nephews and good friends.
