Anthony Louis (Tony) Van Dyk, 66, El Dorado Springs, passed away July 20, 2021.  Tony was born on Jan. 26, 1955, in Benoni South Africa to Anthonie Edward and Susarha Fredrika Van Dyk.

Tony attended Benoni Technical High School and attained his Electrical license and also worked as a Contract Engineer at GEC Machines.  He married, Linda, his wife of 31 years and together they had two children: Riaan and daughter, Yolandie, and husband, Neil Linsenmayer.  Tony and Linda have six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Tony served in the South African military where he was a veteran of foreign wars and served nine tours in the Angola war.

From 1984 to 1993 Tony was in partnership and a business owner of Lambrechts & Van Dyk Loss Adjusters in Pietersburg, South Africa.  In 1993 he moved his beloved family to the USA and settled in El Dorado Springs.  Tony was hard working and successful in providing for his loved ones and was always ready to serve others.  His greatest pleasure was spending time with his grandchildren and his biggest accomplishment was teaching his children to always put God first in all that you do and you will be successful.  He made friends wherever he went and was loved by many.

Besides his children, grandchildren, and a great-grandson, he is survived by the mother of his children, Linda; sisters, Sally and husband, Steve Krugel, and Madalyn and husband, Chris Crocker.  He was preceded in death by Baby Van Dyk and his parents, Anthonie and Susarha Van Dyk.

A celebration of life service will be held from2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 1, 2021, in the Schell City Community Building under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home. Memories and a video tribute will begin at 2:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the El Dorado Springs Fire Department or the Schell City Rural Volunteer Fire Department.
