Jack LeRoy Martin Sr., 80, El Dorado Springs, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, at his home.
Jack was born Aug. 28, 1940, to Cleo Martin and Mary Louise (Sizemore) Martin in Humansville. He attended El Dorado Springs High School, graduating in 1958.
On June 16, 1962, Jack married the love of his life, Carol ‘Joy’ Kingcade. To this union, four children were born.
On Oct. 10, 1970, Jack was baptized as one of Jehovah’s witnesses. He serve faithfully for 50 years.
Together Jack and Joy ran a successful roofing business for nine years. Jack worked at Allison’s. In his later years, Jack had a small engine repair shop where he enjoyed reviving old lawn mowers and chain saws.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Jean Helm; and two brothers, Don Martin and Bob Martin.
He is survived by his wife, Joy Martin; three sons – Jack Jr of Tennessee, Randy (Kim) of Belton and Rick of Kansas City; and a daughter, Jenny (William) Burns of El Dorado Springs; three grandchildren, Levi and Zoey Burns and Candi Landon; three great-grandchildren and one brother, Darrel Martin, of El Dorado Springs. And many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank everyone for their generosity, love and prayers during this difficult time.
A virtual memorial service will be held via Zoom at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9.
