Kathryn (Strouse) Kennon Morgan, 90, was born on Sept. 19, 1931 and passed at home with family on Dec. 11, 2021. Kathryn was born to Thelma Harrison and Clarance Strouse in El Dorado Springs where she graduated high school, married Dennis Kennon, together they had six children – Danny (Becky) Kennon, Eddie (Carey) Kennon, Mark (Tammy) Kennon, Paul Kennon, Dave (Angie) Kennon and Kimmie (Darrel) Blankenship and her devoted niece, Peggy (Davis) Wheaton.

Later, Kathryn moved to Clinton where she lived for many years.  She married Jan Morgan and had the honor of becoming part of his family which includes Linda and Rick Burnett, Jan and Kiki Morgan, Nancy and Jeff Denny, Vencia and Randy Williamson, John and Michele Morgan, Marty and Julie Morgan, Denise and Dean Owsley and Danielle and Alan Payne.

As you can imagine, she has many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren all of which she loved dearly and told everyone about.

In her 90 years of living, she had many challenges and accomplishments. She went to state in basketball in High School, graduated Business College in Springfield and lived for many years in Walnut Creek, CA. She was elected as the first female School Board member in El Dorado Springs, she owned and co-owned businesses including Ed Sporting Goods for over 30 years, among many other business ventures, all of which were her zeal and passion in life. She was well known for her excellent winning abilities at Bingo, attending cards at the Eagles or holding card games in her home for friends, having huge family dinners with games, matching outfits, kicking her leg over her head well into her 70s, her famous homemade ice cream and the fantastic conversation that was held in her living room that many of us miss dearly. She was known for her unwavering faith in Jesus, which, as her headstone reads, she has “Gone Home.”

We are all eternally grateful for knowing that while we will miss her dearly, we will see her again someday.

She is preceded in death by both parents, sister Betty Davis, her son Ed Kennon, husband Jan Morgan and numerous precious loved ones and friends.
