Lester Wayne Barker

Lester Wayne Barker, 82, was born in Walker on Aug. 22, 1938, to Lester Roy Barker and Laura Stella Neihart Barker. He passed from this life on Nov. 21, 2020, at CMH in Bolivar.

Remaining around El Dorado Springs for his entire life, Wayne always said he had a good life. His favorite pastime was his love for horses and his first toy as a child was a horse. With the love of life combined with his love of horses, he never wanted to pass up a chance for a trail ride or to participate in a parade.

On June 9, 1990, Wayne was married to Anna Lee Newman Moore. Wayne loved his family and worked hard to provide for them. Always enjoying his work, during his lifetime he was employed by Chevrolet in Nevada, MFA, Witt Printing, International Shoe Factory, the Baptist Church, and Allison Quick Lube.

Wayne was saved July 2000 in the hospital before open heart surgery. It was at his request that the song ‘Far Side Of Jordan’ be played at his funeral service.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lester and Stella “Ted” Baker, his nephews Waylon Shook and Donnie Barker, and a brother Emory Barker.

Wayne is survived by his wife Anna Lee of thirty years; children Ronnie Barker (Yalonda), Sheri barker, Michelle Stockstill (Josh) and Eddie Moore; grandchildren Brandon Barker (Kim), Lacy Greenstreet (Skyler), Emily McCowan (Kirtis), savannah Barker (Dustin), Cameo head (Cris), Courtney Head, Makinsey Connor, Logan Connor, Karliegh Bobbett (Ryan) Lily Coutler, Gabe Coulter, Trinity Coutler; great grandchildren Raenna Barker, Aeris Brietmier, Tucker Greenstreet, Adly Greenstreet, Trevor Bobbett and Riley Bobbett; his sister Coeta Smith (Rick); sister-in-law Paula Newman; brothers-in-law Dannie Newman (Sharon), Larry Newman (Sherie), Randy Newman (Lorrie) and Rick Newman (Cathy); sister-in-law Iva drake (Donnie); and lots of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Services were Saturday, Nov. 28, in Sheldon Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs under the direction of Rev. Don Barger.

Music was “Grandpa Told Me So,” “Cowboy Church” and “Far Side Banks Of Jordan.”

Casketbearers were: Davin Allison, Nick Allison, Trenton Hardie, Shawn Loane, Jason Lumley and Jim Alexander.

Honorary casketbearers were: Logan Bowen, Dennis Markham, Vernon Rookstool, Scott Roe and Early Boulringhouse.

Interment was in the El Dorado Springs Cemetery.
