Margie Ilene Butler

Margie Ilene Butler, 91, Nevada, passed away on Monday, Aug. 9, 2021, at her home in Nevada. Margie was born July 8, 1930, in Nevada to Fred O. and Stella M. (Peacock) Pugh. She was united in marriage to William G. Butler and he preceded her in death in 2015.

Margie graduated from Nevada High School. In 1969 she moved to El Dorado Springs where she lived until 2015.  She worked as switchboard operator for a time and was instrumental in opening up the Boys Ranch in Nevada.  Following her marriage to Bill, she was a homemaker and worked as a seamstress. After Bill’s passing, she returned to Nevada to be near her family.

Survivors include three sons, Charles McDowell (Rowena), Philippines; Robert McDowell (Pat), Dover, DE; and John Butler (Kelly), Nevada; 13 grandchildren; as well as numerous great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, William, she was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, William Pugh.
