Patricia Ann Rabe, 91, El Dorado Springs, passed away Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024, at Moore Few Care Center, in Nevada. She was born Oct. 30, 1932, in Stover, MO, to Ben and Kathryn (Gehrs) Coit. She was united in marriage to Willet (Bill) D. Rabe on Nov. 12, 1953, in Stover, MO. They were the parents of one son, Bryan Dean and two daughters, Kathryn Ann and Kristin Jo.
Pat grew up in Stover, MO, and attended school there. She graduated from Stover High School as class Valedictorian in 1950. During her high school years she played on the Volleyball team and was a Cheerleader. She attended Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, MO. After college she taught elementary school in Stover until her marriage. Shortly after her wedding she moved to Saint-Andre’-de-Cubzac, France and lived there for two years while Bill served in the United States Army. Following Bill’s time in the service they came back to Central Missouri. Pat worked in a government office and in 1961, she and Bill moved to El Dorado Springs, where they established the Rabe Furniture business and operated it for the next 49 years. Pat worked with Bill and their son Bryan in the business.
Pat was a faithful member of Faith Lutheran church until it closed, and she subsequently joined the United Methodist Church. Pat was an active member of the El Dorado Springs Progress Club for many years. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; son, Bryan Dean; parents; brother, Glen Coit; and sisters: Betty Goodman, Mavis Garrison, and Melba Akers.
She is survived by daughters, Kathy and husband, Alan Leimkuehler, Nevada, MO and Kristin and husband, Brian Atkinson, Parkville, MO; four grandchildren: Rachel Buzzard of St. Louis, MO, Gregory Leimkuehler of Nevada, Alicia Leimkuehler of Lee’s Summit, MO, and Lauren St. John of Olathe, KS; and four great-grandchildren: Willet St. John, Stella St. John, Kelsey Cargill, and Madison Masters.
A graveside service for Patricia Rabe will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, at El Dorado Springs City Cemetery, under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at www.blandhackleman.com.
