Robert Warren Baker, age 77, of El Dorado Springs, received his wings on Tuesday, March 30, 2021. Bob was born on April 30, 1943 in Fort Dodge, Iowa and was the son of George and Katy Baker. He graduated from Parkview High School and later attended Southwest Missouri State in Springfield.   

Bob married Glenda (Friar) Baker on May 22, 1965. They were married for 55 years and were blessed with five children, 15 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

Bob spent 23 years as a member of the Army National Guard holding the rank of SFC. He was an American Family Insurance Agent until 1983. At that time, Bob and Glenda moved the family to College Station, TX where he was the Vice President for Baker Exploration Company (BEXCO). When he retired, they moved back to El Dorado Springs. He was a hard worker and a devoted family man. Bob believed that you work hard for what you want in life and that your word is your bond. He taught his kids and grandkids to treat everyone with respect and never judge a book by its cover.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda; brothers, Pat Baker of Caldwell, TX, and Tim Baker of Germantown, TN; five children: Glynis Baker of Hot Springs, AR; David Baker and wife Alexis of Superior, WI; Michael “Bubba” Baker and wife Sarah, of Nixa; Jill Handy and fiancé, Paul Charbonnier of Baltimore, MD; Kyle Baker and wife Amy, of St. Louis,. Grandchildren: Andrew Holguin and family, Shannon Holguin and family, Eric Holguin, Laura Briner and family, Elizabeth Baker, Keegan Smith, Lindsey Baker, Dillon Baker, Hunter Baker, Jacqueline Wilkins and family, Jocelyn Handy, Natalie Baker, Nathan Baker, Matthew Baker, Madison Baker, and numerous great grandchildren.

Memorial service for Bob Baker was on Friday, April 2,  at Bland-Hackleman Chapel with Rev. Brent Bland officiating.

Honorary Pallbearers were: Jerry Friar, John Detwiler, Larry Flint, Andrew Holguin, Eric Holguin, Hunter Baker, Dillon Baker, Nathan Baker, and Matthew Baker.
