Robert James Baer

Robert James Baer, 33, Harwood, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022, in Alexander, ND. Robby was born Aug. 19, 1988, in Springfield, the son of Robert Charles Baer and Shellie DeeAnn (Peace) Baer. He met Ashley Nichole Harms in junior high and together have been building their high school sweetheart life together ever since. They were united in marriage April 18, 2015 at the Rinehart Christian Church in Richards, and to their union one son and two daughters were born.
Robby grew up in Harwood, and graduated from Northeast Vernon County High School with the Class of 2007. Throughout his high school years he worked for Harms Repair Service in Harwood. After graduation he attended Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology, but his true passion was working construction and traveling for work throughout the United States and US territories. Robby started as a pipefitter and worked his way up to foreman, then on to general foreman. He had recently made his way to Construction Supervisor. Above all, Robby was a family man. He loved his family and friends, and never hung up a phone without saying, “Love You – Bye.” Robby loved to fish, hunt, and grill his “Yard Bird”— but was known for his “BAER HERE’ ISM’s.” He loved taking his family to the beach and just spending the day in the company of friends. He was a longtime member of the Harwood Baptist Church.
Robby is survived by his wife, Ashley, of the home; son, Paxton Lane; two daughters, Kambrie Elise, and Kinsley Marie also of the home; mother, Shellie Baer – Nevada; brother, Joel Baer – Harwood; three sisters, Darci Baer of Republic, Tamara Brannon (Zach) of Hazen, ND, and Katryna Leach (Ryan) of El Dorado Springs; parents, Randy and Tracy Harms – Harwood; grandparents, Darlene Peace – Nevada and Judith (Bill) Michener – Red Oak, TX.; nieces and nephews, Zander Brannan, Hunter Leach, Bailey Brannan, Cale Brannan, Noah Baer and Abigail Baer. Robby is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many, many friends that were also considered family. And, we cannot forget his dog, Trick.
Of special mention is Robby’s most memorable saying, “Family is who you make it.”
Preceding him in death were his father, Robert and grandfathers, Roy K. Peace, and Robert J. Baer.
Services for Robert Baer were held Saturday, April 30, at the Schell City Baptist Church with burial to follow in Lefler Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
