Editor’s note: This week I was able to make contact with three fishing reporters. One of them told me that fish are biting downriver from Osceola on Truman but neither he nor I know of a fish camp in that area. They are catching crappie and catfish.

When it first got warm, they were catching them everywhere. The crappie were up against the banks just going crazy. They slaughtered them everywhere. If you weren’t catching fish, you were in the wrong place.

They have moved off the banks.

People are having some luck with walleye in 12 to 18 feet of water on crankbaits.

The limit on walleye is four at least 15 inches long.

Crappie are trying to spawn but this weather is going back and forth.

Crappie are biting early and late on jig tipped with minnows, on minnows and on white and chartreuse jigs. White bass are hitting one white and blue jigs.

Shad are running so trotliners are netting them.

There are still a few walleye, A few catfish are being caught, white bass, small mouth.
