The boat ramp is open. That’s about the only thing I’m sure of. Don’t know if the river is rising or falling.

Sold some live bait this morning. Not sure if they were going to rod and reel or set lines. Too unpredictable.

We are open from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. Closed Sunday and Monday.

Caplinger Woods

Fishing is getting better. They are catching walleye off the bridge. I haven’t heard about any crappie or bass.

The Corps is running water every day and will until they get the lake level down. Today thy will open the gates at 1 p.m. The water will get here about 3 p.m.

We serve biscuits and gravy on Saturday and Sunday from when we open at 9 a.m. until we run out. The biscuits are big. We ran out again and I made more. We did not run out last weekend because of the rain.

We charge $5.49 for biscuit and gravy.

We are open Monday thru Saturday 9-6 and Sunday 9-5.

Orleans Trail

We are open Monday-Thursday 8-5. Friday – Saturday 7 – 7, Sunday 7-5.

The lake is 4 feet above pool. Water temp is 76 degrees.

Crappie are on the brush piles. Walleye are on the flats and coves hitting bottom bouncers tipped with a red worm. I’m seeing lots of crappie.

I was fishing for bass up against the brush on the bank with a red tiger rattletrap and caught a walleye.
