Join the team at Nathan and Olive Boone Homestead State Historic Site for a virtual Coffee Talk at 12 p.m. Friday, July 15, on the site’s Facebook page.
The program, “Let’s talk about ice cream,” will delve into the history of everyone’s favorite summer treat. Assistant Superintendent Melissa Blank will explain how our frontier ancestors were able to create cold delicious treats before modern refrigeration and see how it was made using the same tools as when Nathan Boone was alive.
Nathan and Olive Boone Homestead State Historic Site is located at 7850 N. State Highway V in Ash Grove, northwest of Springfield. For more information about the event, call 417-751-3266.
