Cedar County Commission met April 1, 2025. Present: Kenneth Thornton; Presiding Commissioner; Ron Alumbaugh, Northern Cornmissioner; Ted Anderson, Southern Cotnmissioner; and Peggy Kenney, County Commission Administrative Assistant.
Approved minutes from March 24th and March 3lst
Assessor Leah Morton presented weekly court orders, April 1-4, 2025.
Collector Lisa Nelson presented court orders 122014-122051.
Whisper rescinded their contract request.
Called Titan Roofing rto set up final walk through; scheduled for after 1 p.m. 4.14.2025;
Met with University Extension, monthly report
Interviewing for Secretary’s position
Neil will be going on maternity leave in June.
Reorted paint chipping on ceiling in extension office
Christine Sherrod attended 4-H at the Capital with a host of local 4-Hers
Discussed Program at the Library.
Reviewed monthly reports from the following office holders: Sarah Turner, Circuit Clerk; Heather York, County Clerk; WIC, Health Dept.
Alumbaugh presented recommendations to water issues wiht Health Dept carport; treated lumber & Dal Corning hwy grade caulking was recommended by Goedeke at approzimately $13.50 per tube.
Met with James McCrary, Sheriff. Discussed becoming a “Blue Shield” County; reviewed jail report; discussed water heater repair.
Signed contract with Dedmon Flooring & Asbestos removal.
Signed Assessor Quarterly Reimbursement.
Met with DJ Ford, Road and Bridge Supervisor for weekly status report; Stacey Hinker reported 951 Rd. was in need of maintenance; Carl Gallette requesting 525 Rd. be improved for heavy traffic, commission recommended alternate routes for heavy traffic.
Approsve expenditures and payroll to be paid.
Motion by Anderson; Second by Thornton to pay BRO contractor pursuant to the signed conrtact, proior to the reimbursement of MoDot.

Leah Morton, Assessor inquired about 1% and 1 1/2% commisison collected for assessor’s office, Lisa Nelson, Collector will request a report from Clear Basin that shows the breakdown.
Carla Lowe, Treasurer presented sales tax report.

ICE Grant was discussed.
Bob Floyd via phone discussed siren on Corp of Engineers; County will own siren; sheriff though dispatch will control siren; sero cost to county; electric and setup costs to be paid by FEMA.

Titan Roofing walkthrough on new roofing system; Titan will come once a year for roof inspection.
Met with DJ Ford, Road and Bridge Supervisor for weekly status report; Don Boultinghouse reported 675 Rd. was in need of repair, Stacey Rinker reported 951 Rd., Carlos Carey reported 675 Rd.
Met with MoDot Bridge Inspectors for report on regular scheduled inspection of 67 non-state structures.
Bates County Commissioner, Jim Wheatley discussed Opioid Lawsuit; Cedar County is receiving partial funds available due to paperwork not being filed. Wheatley sending paperwork to be resubmitted with the chance counties may still be eligible for payment.
Approved expenditures to be paid.
Reviewed and signed Progress Invoice #4 for BRO-R020(001); Cedar Creek Bridge on 1320 Rd.
Commission requested County Clerk, Heather York incoice the election expense pursuant to Mo Revised Statute 115.
Simmons Bank, Haleigh Nelson presented paperwork for changing name on bank account from Cedar County to County of Cedar, Missouri as requested by Medicare for reimbursement.
Carla Lowe, Treasurer presented sales tax report.
