Message from the Chief Deputy

Boating Safety Reminder

As summer heats up and more folks head to the lake, I want to remind everyone to keep safety a top priority while out on the water.

Boating is a great way to enjoy the outdoors, but it comes with serious responsibilities.

A day of fun can quickly turn dangerous if precautions aren’t taken.

Always wear a life jacket no exceptions

Never operate a boat under the influence of drugs or alcohol

Know and follow all Missouri boating laws

Watch your speed in no-wake zones and near docks

Keep an eye on changing weather conditions

Make sure your boat has proper safety equipment on board

Whether you’re fishing, tubing, or just cruising, your safety and the safety of others depends on smart decisions.

Non-emergency: (417) 276-5133

Let’s all do our part to keep Cedar County’s waterways safe and enjoyable for everyone. Have a fun, safe, and respectful Fourth of July, Cedar County!

Chief Deputy Clay Jeffries
