In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 118 requests for assistance this past week, Jan. 4-10. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 10, Animal Control 9, Assist Other Agencies 8, All Escorts 1, Nuisance 5, All Other Requests for Assistance 55, Summons 9.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On January 4, 2021, officers responded to 1011 South Kirkpatrick concerning a reported burglary. The investigation revealed the theft of several necklaces,  power bank and a smart phone charger, 2009 Stockton class ring, several sets of earrings, DVD’s, touch screen laptop, touch screen tablet with detachable keyboard, waterproof speaker and a Deskjet plus 4155 all-in-one printer. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On January 4, 2021 officers responded to 605 East Fields for a reported burglary. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On January 4, 2021, officers responded to 115 East US 54 Highway, Pitt Stop, concerning a reported larceny of gasoline. The investigation revealed the theft of 12 gallons of gasoline. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Chastity D Haggen, 35, of Camdenton, MO for the probable cause of Stealing. She was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On January 5, 2021, officers responded to 108 East Marshall concerning a larceny.  The investigation revealed the theft of two Amazon packages containing E-Z-Est Coin Cleaner, valued at $28.00. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On January 5, 2021 officers arrested Trenda R. Loomis, 43, of Stockton, for Jackson County Warrants charging her with Failure to Appear with the original charges of Assault and Property Damage with a $1500.00 bond. She was released on bond pending a court appearance.

On January 7, 2021, officers responded to 100 East US 54 Highway, Casey’s General Store, concerning a motor vehicle theft. The investigation revealed the theft of a Black 2012 Dodge Ram 1500, 4 door, truck with Arkansas plates. The vehicle was later recovered in Barton County. A suspect had been identified, a report taken and the investigation continues.

On January 7, 2021, officers arrested John R Herndon, 22, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Driving While Revoked and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Herndon was released on summonses pending a court appearance.

On January 8, 2021, officers responded to 507 South Ohio concerning a reported larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of windshield wipers from a vehicle. A report taken and the investigation continues.

The department received a total of 88 requests for service.
