In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 118 requests for assistance this past week, Feb. 8-14. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 4, Animal Control 16, Assist Other Agencies 19, All Escorts 0, Nuisance 3, All Other Requests for Assistance 46, Summons 5.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On February 9, 2021, officers responded to the 1700 block of South Main concerning a reported larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of three “For Sale Signs”. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On February 9, 2021, officers responded to 302 South Kirkpatrick for a reported burglary. The investigation revealed the theft of a Magnavox TV. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On February 9, 2021, officers arrested Joseph Hughes, 32, El Dorado Springs, for a Cedar County Warrant, charging him with Failure to Appear on the original charge of Domestic Assault in the 4th degree with a $500.00 bond. He was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending bond and a court appearance.

On February 10, 2021 officers responded to 1301 Greenridge Road concerning a larceny from a motor vehicle. The investigation revealed the theft of a phone charger, shaving bag, an analog electric alarm clock, fleece watch cap, bank bag with misc change and a bag containing coffee, coffee filters and other misc objects. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On February 11, 2021, officers arrested Paige N Walker, 18, of El Dorado Springs, for active Vernon County Warrants charging her with Tampering with a Motor Vehicle and Leaving the Scene of an Accident with no bond.  She was release on recognizance pending a court appearance.  Walker was also arrested for the probable of Resisting Arrest. She was released pending warrant.

On February 11, 2021 officers arrested Zachary J. Guenther, 32, of El Dorado Springs, for a Vernon County Warrant for Probation Violation on the original charge of Burglary with no bond. He was transferred to the Vernon County Jail pending a court appearance.

On February 13, 2021, officers responded to 312 West US 54 Highway concerning a larceny from a motor vehicle. The investigation revealed the theft of a car stereo, DVD player with screen.  A report taken and the investigation continues.

On February 13, officers arrested Erin M Jones, 39, of El Dorado Springs, for an El Dorado Springs Municipal Court Warrant, charging her with Failure to Appear on the original charge of Driving While Revoke with a $827.00 bond. She was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending bond and court appearance.

On February 13, 2021, officers arrested Christopher S. McNeil, 45, of El Dorado Springs, on a Buchanan County Felony Warrant, charging him with Possession of Controlled Substance with no bond. He was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending a court appearance.

The department received a total of 88 requests for service.
