In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 104 requests for assistance this past week, May 3-9. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 9, Animal Control 10, Assist Other Agencies 12, All Escorts 1, Nuisance 6, All Other Requests for Assistance 66, Summons 8.

Anyone interested in adopting  animals from the City Pound should contact Officer Mendelsohn at 876-2313.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On May 4, 2021, officers responded to 307 W. Poplar concerning a report of larceny.  The investigation revealed the theft of three necklaces and a Chevy ring. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On May 6 2021, officers responded to 402 South Ohio concerning a reported fire. The investigation revealed a fire had been started in the residence. A report taken and the investigation continues.   

On May 6, 2021 officers responded to 311 East US 54 Highway, C&H Motel, concerning a reported larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of a T-Mobile cell phone. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On May 7, 2021 officers responded to 303 North Main concerning a reported larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of a leather wallet with Vero card, Cash App Card, Community Bank card, a social security card and a jar of coins. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On May 8, 2021 officers responded to 109 North Cedar concerning a reported theft of a pet.  A report taken, the animal was located and the investigation continues.

On May 8, 2021 officers arrested John W. Sant Jr, 18, of El Dorado Springs, for El Dorado Springs Municipal Warrants, charging him with 2 counts for stealing with a $269.00 bond and Minor in Possession with a$134.50 bond. He was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending bond and a court appearance.
