Law enforcement activities
The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 89 requests for assistance this past week, May 15-21. The requests were as follows:
Ambulance Assists 2, Animal Control 6, Assist Other Agencies 12, All Escorts 1, Nuisance 1, All Other Requests for Assistance 67, Summons 5.

Anyone interested in adopting animals from the City Pound should contact Officer Richards, animal control officer at 876-2313.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report
On May 15, 2023, officers responded to 800 North Main Street concerning a larceny. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On May 17, 2023, officers responded to 218 West Marshall Street concerning a domestic disturbance. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Anderson S Lawson, 34, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Domestic Assault 4th Degree. He was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On May 17, 2023, officer arrested Allison L. York, 26, of El Dorado Springs, for an El Dorado Springs Municipal Court Warrant, charging her with Failure to Appear on the original charge of Driving While Revoked with a $15.50 bond. She was released on bond pending a court appearance.

On May 18, 2023, officers arrested Kent L. Maris, 59, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Driving While Revoked. He was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On May 19, 2023, officers arrested Krista S. Jarvis, 34, of El Dorado Springs, for a Cedar County Warrant, for a Probation Violation on the original charge of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon with no bond. She was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending a court appearance.

On May 19, 2023, officers responded to 127 West Spring Street concerning property damage. The investigation revealed damage to a window by an apparent impact of a projectile from an air gun. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On May 20, 2023, officers responded to 300 South Main Street, First Christian Church, concerning property damage. The investigation revealed safety railing was removed and thrown into the street. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On May 21, 2023, officers responded to 204 1⁄2 West Joe Davis concerning an assault. The investigation resulted in the arrest of John D. Donahue, 38, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Assault 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Action and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Officers completed a probable cause statement for these charges. He was transferred to the Cedar County Jail. Officers received a Cedar County Warrant, charging Donahue with Assault 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action with no bond.
