Sheriff Scott Keeler reported deputies made one arrest and took a burglary report during the week of April 7 through 14, 2020.

Warrant Arrests

Kenda Meredith- On April 12, Kenda Meredith, 31, Appleton City, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class D felony possession of a controlled substance and a class E felony unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Meredith was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest comes after St. Clair County deputies were dispatched to E 2nd Street in reference to drug activity. Upon arrival the deputies made contact with the reporting party, Kalen Meredith. The Kalen stated she had found a syringe in her sister’s belongings. The syringe field tested positive for methamphetamine. The deputies asked for and were given consent to search Kenda’s room. During the search two spoons were located that field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Burglary in Osceola

On April 10, a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to a residence on Highway WW in reference to a burglary. The deputy was contacted by Janice Putnam. Putnam stated that the break in occurred about two weeks ago.

Putnam showed the deputy the back window of the residence where someone had taken out the air conditioner and entered the residence with the aid of a ladder.

Putnam stated her and her husband found out about the burglary when they saw a news release from Bates County that showed several guns that had been recovered.

Putnam was able identify the guns as being her husband’s when she went to Bates County along with a St. Clair County deputy.

The deputy collected evidence and photographed the scene.
