Arrests

Sheriff Lee Hilty reported deputies made two arrests and took multiple reports during the week of April 6th, 2021 through April 12th, 2021.

Coleman, Jaylen – On April 6th, Jaylen Coleman, 28, Memphis, was arrested by Missouri Highway Patrol and transferred to St. Clair County custody for a charge of Resisting Arrest/Detention/Stop by Fleeing – Creating a Substantial Risk of Serious Injury/Death to Any Person. Jaylen was held for 24 hours and released pending formal charges.

The arrest was made after St. Clair County deputies were advised of the vehicle Jaylen was the driver of, fleeing the arrest of Clinton Police Department on April 5th. At this time, St. Clair County deputies attempted to perform a traffic stop, as Jaylen increased the speed of the vehicle to over 100 mph. During the pursuit, Jaylen lost control of the vehicle in Collins, and fled on foot. K-9 Officer Kormi was called to help track Jaylen down, but lost the track to the east of the wrecked vehicle.

During a search of the vehicle, it was discovered that there were multiple sealed bags inside of a trash bag that contained a large amount of a green leafy substance believed to be Marijuana.

Thanks to the Text Caster announcement sent out regarding Jaylen, the Sheriff’s Office received multiple tips from the community that eventually allowed Missouri Highway Patrol to take Jaylen into custody at the Comfort Inn in Bolivar.

Brown, James – On April 12th, James Brown, 28, Camdenton, was arrested by St. Clair County deputies for a Felony charge of Resisting/Interfering with Arrest for a Felony, a Felony charge of DWI – Persistent, a Misdemeanor charge of Driving While Revoked/Suspended – 1st Offense, and a Misdemeanor charge of Failed to Yield to Vehicle Approaching from Opposite Direction When Turning Left. James is currently being held on a 24 hour hold, pending formal charges.

The arrest was made after a St. Clair County deputy attempted to perform a traffic stop, on Lakeshore Drive in Osceola, on the vehicle James was the driver of, for failing to yield and causing the deputy to swerve to avoid him. At this time, James fled and parked at a house on Libby Street. Upon being taken into custody, the deputies noticed the strong odor of intoxicants emitting from his person, but James refused both the field sobriety tests and a breath analyzer test to be done. K-9 Officer Kormi was called, and alerted to the vehicle, and a search of the vehicle concluded in finding a bag with Marijuana residue and a pipe.

Fraud in El Dorado Springs

On April 12th, a St. Clair County deputy responded to a call for service in regards to a fraud of a check. At this time, the deputy made contact with the victim, whom reported that the bank that they utilize had contacted them in regards to someone attempting to cash a check in their name. At this time, the deputy made contact with the bank, who stated that an individual had attempted to cash a check in the amount of $400.00 with the victim’s name on it, and the bank teller properly identified it as being altered. A suspect was named, and El Dorado Springs Police Department was also notified.

Arrests

Sheriff Lee Hilty reported deputies made four arrests and took multiple reports during the week of April 13th, 2021 through April 19th, 2021.

King, Cassandra – On April 13th, Cassandra King, 30, Poplar Bluff, was arrested by Christian County Sheriff’s Office for a St. Clair County Failure to Appear warrant on a Felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid. Cassandra was transported to the St. Clair County Jail, and the bond was set at $2,500.00 cash only.

Robertson, Paul – On April 13th, Paul Robertson, 35, Osceola, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a Cass County Failure to Appear Misdemeanor Warrant. Paul was transported to the St. Clair County Jail and was given an OR Bond.

Daehler, John – On April 14th, John Daehler, 26, Blue Springs, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a Felony charge of  Possession of Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid. John was booked and released pending formal charges.

Foster, Richard – On April 15th, Richard Foster, 35, Lowry City, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy for two St. Clair County Failure to Appear warrants. The first was a Misdemeanor was for Owner Operated Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility (Motor Vehicle Required to be Registered) – 1st Offense. The second was an Infraction for Driver/Front Seat Passenger Fail to Wear Properly Adjusted/Fastened Safety Belt.

Stealing in Appleton City

On April 15th, a St. Clair County deputy responded to a call for service in Appleton City in reference to stealing. Upon making contact with the victim, it was reported that a blue in color Dodge Journey was found attempting to steal the rear end from a Chevrolet S-10 Truck, but returned the rear end and left when confronted by the victim. Shortly later, when the victim returned home, he/she noticed that the rear end was missing. The total value of the rear end was valued at $100.00.

Burglary in Deepwater

On April 17th, a St. Clair County deputy responded to Deepwater in regards to a burglary. Upon making contact with the victim, the deputy received information that the victim had returned to his/her hunting cabin and observed the door knob had been pried off, and multiple sleeping bags left inside of the cabin that did not belong to the victim. A small propane heater and a box of 30-30 rifle bullets were reported missing, and the total value of loss was estimated at $180.00 at that time.
