BAND COMPETITIVE MARCHING SEASON ENDS – This Saturday wrapped up the Band’s Competitive Marching Season! We marched in the 50th Annual Maple Leaf Festival and in the 51st Maple Leaf Field Competition held in Carthage! The parade was over 2 and half hours long, with the Bulldog Band marching for an hour and fifteen minutes! Talk about a long hike.
The Bulldog Band competed in Class A field competition against Sarcoxie and Cabool. The Band won Best Horn Line (Outstanding Music for the third competition in a row!) & Best Auxiliary in our class! Along, with the First Place Trophy and a trip to the Finals Performance.
In Finals, the Bulldog Band finished in 8th Place behind, Joplin HS, Mt Vernon HS, Aurora HS, Webb City HS, Carl Junction HS, Parkview HS, & Lebanon HS. We also improved our score by 16 points in the Finals. Which is the most I’ve ever had a band improve by in Finals.
These kids worked really hard this week and this season. We appreciate all the kind words of support! We are already looking forward to next year’s show and competitions.
The Bulldog Band went to its first field competition of the season at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph. Out of eight bands in its class, the band brought home 3rd Place.
