ECS Seniors 2024

Cannon Ash is the type of student that can be found helping out in all your technology problems. He is a smart and loud student that never stops talking about technology related subjects. Cannon is the son to Aaron and Jill Ash and brother to Meadow. A favorite memory at ECS for Cannon is hanging out with his friends through sports and other school events. During his years at ECS Cannon participated in basketball, track, cross country, golf, soccer, STUCO, honor society and even buffalo bulletin as extracurriculars. When Cannon was asked who his favorite teacher or mentor was, he stated, “My mom and dad because they have always supported me and guided me on my walk with God. My grandparents are also some I look up to because they have given me so much irreplaceable knowledge that I can use all throughout my life.” When the highschool went to OCC for their student services is Cannon’s favorite spiritual moment at ECS. After graduating he plans to go to Crowder in Neosho for two years for their pre-engineering course and then switch to a university to study electrical engineering. Some advice that Cannon would like to pass along to younger students is, “listen to your teachers and seniors, they know more than you think.”

Joseph (Joey) Dodson is known for being hard working, quotable and tall. He wants to be remembered by fellow ECS members as a servant. Joey is the son to Justin and Karen Dodson and brother to Ethan, Claira, Annie, Essie and Anthony. When asked about his favorite memory at ECS he said “When I accidentally dropped a Dr. Pepper cream soda and it exploded all over Mrs. LeeMasters. Sorry Mrs. LeeMasters!” While at ECS Joey participated in soccer, basketball, track, buffalo bulletin and STUCO as some extracurricular activities. Joey says “My mentors are my parents because of the Godly attitude and way they showed me and raised me in. My grandparents are also my mentors because of their dedication and support of me.” One of Joey’s favorite spiritual moments at ECS is in freshman year when he went to the highschool retreat with Pakston. After graduation Joey plans on attending Missouri state tech in Lynn Missouri for two years receiving his certification in facilities operations and management. When asked what advice he wanted to pass along to younger students he said, “work hard, keep your head up and keep your eyes on Jesus and don’t procrastinate!”

Dakotah Fogle is the son to Justin and Summer Fogle and brother to Cherokee. When people describe him they say he is observant and intelligent. Dakotah wants to be remembered as the smart guy that you could ask any question to. A favorite memory that Dakotah has is when he had a school lock in and they got to play games and watch shows together. Track, soccer, STUCO, honor society and buffalo bulletin are the extracurricular activities that he participated in during his years at ECS. He would like to let his parents know that they are his favorite mentors because they have helped him grow into a better person and they have always been there when he needed something. When asked about his favorite spiritual moment at ECS he states, “when we talked about the Biblical contrast of different religions in worldview class.” After graduating from ECS Dakotah plans to attend Crowder in Joplin to get his degree in computer networking. Dakotah would like to leave this advice for the younger students of ECS, “ don’t put off your homework and always listen to your teachers.”

Olivia South, recognize that last name? That’s right, her and her brother, Joshua, are both graduating this year! Olivia is the daughter to Brian and Susan South and sister to Brandon, Kurtis, Tim and Joshua. If you ask anyone at ECS to describe Olivia, they all say how sweet and caring she is. She wants to be remembered as a kind-hearted girl. When asked what her favorite memory is at ECS, she boldly and excitedly said,”Being part of the photo with our ECS state champs!” Olivia is an actress, so it makes sense that as an extracurricular she is in the Easter play at church. When it comes to favorite teachers and mentors, she says “Mrs. Bailey and Mrs. Swank because they would help me if I was stuck on homework.” Spiritual moments at ECS are things that you can hear being talked about throughout the whole school, Olivia is heard saying, “my favorite is the love of God that shows through my friends and my teachers.” While talking with Olivia about future plans, she wants to continue writing and keep up her work in the plays she participates in at church. The advice Olivia would like to offer to younger students at ECS is, “be strong during tough times and trust in God even when it is impossible.”

Joshua South is not only a senior, but he is doing his senior year at a new school! Such an exciting time for him. Josh is the son to Brian and Susan South and brother to Brandon, Kurtis, Timothy and Olivia. Although he is not very short, Josh is known for being the strange little man. When asked what he wants to be remembered for at ECS, he states, “it would be cool to be remembered as the strange but mature one.” His favorite memory at ECS has been when he was playing volleyball. Even though he enjoyed playing volleyball, that sport wasn’t actually one of his extracurricular activities. He enjoyed participating in Buffalo bulletin, cross country and being a teacher’s aide in math and P.E. It took Joshua a little while to think of an answer but when he was asked who his favorite teacher or mentor was he said, “Brian Fecher from my first school. He gave incredible wisdom that I still love to this day.” Josh’s favorite spiritual moment at ECS was when he got to participate in an event of writing his sins down on paper and then burning his sins away. After he graduates this year, Josh plans to go into construction work. When asked what advice he would like to pass along to younger ECS students he answered, “Your biggest influence is your home. It is what you will build your future life upon.”

Breann Reasoner is most known for being indecisive but she would really like to be remembered as a Christian leader who is smart, kind and loving. Breann is the daughter of Mike and Michelle Reasoner and sister to Camren and Abigail. Breann states that her favorite ECS memory is when all of high school went to the Kansas City Zoo and Aquarium. A few extracurriculars that Breann participated in are volleyball, basketball, golf, track and STUCO. When asked about a favorite teacher or mentor Breann says, “Mrs. Ash was my favorite teacher because she gave great advice and was very helpful in math. Class was especially fun in my 3rd hour study hall last year. She showed a great role model for taking responsibility and always showing the love of Christ.” Going to the Ozark Christian College retreat every year is a favorite memory of Breann’s, she says that she enjoys having Christ-filled friends and teachers that she can talk with when she needs help. After graduating from ECS she plans to get her associates in nursing through Crowder College, travel to many National Parks and to start a family. When asked what advice she would like to leave with younger students Breann says, “You can do hard things.’ A quote that I always look back on. Push yourselves to your best potential and try to make friends with as many people as possible.”

Jude Wyant is the son to Andrew and Krystal Wyant and brother to Juliet, Josie, Haviland, Zoe and Levi. When you think about Jude you see an out-going leader who likes to think big. He is always throwing out some big ideas and thoughts for everyone to think about. However what Jude wants to be remembered for is that he was inclusive, nice and was a change-maker. It’s no big shock that when he was asked what his favorite ECS memory was, Jude said “being with my team at the basketball state tournament and winning the state championship!” Jude has an extensive list of extracurriculars which include basketball, soccer, student council, golf, track, buffalo bulletin and honor society. Jude proudly states that his favorite mentors are his grandfathers for being the greatest and Godliest men he knows. He also says his parents for their hard work and endless unconditional support and love. After graduation Jude plans to get his bachelor’s degree in business while living with his best friend. When asked about his favorite spiritual moment at ECS he says, “I love the open discussions about Christianity or other religions you can have. I also love every teacher’s willingness to talk to you about God.” The advice Jude wants to give to younger students is “examine your relationship with God, is it yours? Or do you just go along with what you’re told? Get to know Jesus for yourself because you want to and not because you have to. Also, make school fun, it can be if you’re willing.”

Jodie Yates is daughter to Jim and Alison Yates and sister to John Chamberlain. When you hear people talking about Jodie, you hear words like responsible, persistent and even adventurous! Jodie wants to be remembered at ECS as being a hard worker. A favorite memory that Jodie has at ECS is the 2023 Banquet after party. Although she only participated in track and STUCO as extracurriculars, she has made a huge impact on so many staff and fellow peers in her years at ECS. When asked who her favorite teacher or mentor was Jodie says, “I can’t just pick one, so my favorites are going to have to be Mrs. LeeMasters and Mrs. Ash. They both were black and white when it came to the rules so I always knew where they stood.” Spiritually speaking, Jodie has said that the Valentine’s Day Chapel was her favorite spiritual moment at ECS. When she graduates Jodie wants to become a vet tech. Advice that Jodie would like to offer to younger students is, “just enjoy high school. It is going to seem impossible at times but just take it one step at a time.”
