TWO COMPETE AT DISTRICTS

TWO COMPETE AT DISTRICTS – Dear El Dorado Springs Community,

What an outstanding year it has been for the El Dorado Springs High School Speech and Debate team. On March 16-17, 2018 two EHS students, Allauara Stockbaue, and Gavin McNeely, (in photo) competed in the NSDA districts at Republic High School.  It was a long, exhausting, but fun two days to battle it out for top two placements to represent at nationals in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

  After two days of progress, Gavin McNeely took 1st place in his Humorous Interpretation (Mary Choppins) for a seat to represent at nationals. However, unfortunately, Allauara Stockbauer came in at 4th place with her Dramatic Interpretation (The Barbie Doll).

Words cannot express how truly proud I am of not only these two students, but to all my speech and debate kids this year. Every single one of them have knocked it out of the park, and I couldn’t be any prouder of all their hard work, dedication and self-confidence they have built for their bright futures.

To quote the late Stephen Hawking, “ However difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at.” Thank you to all my students and their hard work this year.
