The El Dorado Springs Boys’ Basketball team hosted Southeast (KC) High School on Friday, January 28th for Courtwarming. The Bulldogs fell short to the Knights by a final score of 51-49.

The game started out as a fast-paced battle that saw the Knights take a 32-14 lead at one point in the second quarter. The Bulldogs responded by ending the quarter on a 7-0 run to be down 32-21 at the break. The Bulldogs continued to fight back as they used a big third quarter to close the gap to 41-37.

As the Bulldogs continued to place pressure on the Knights for a comeback, the El Dorado Springs Boys tied the game at 49-49 with a little over half a minute left in the game. A missed three by the Knights and an offensive putback gave the Knights the lead and the win in the final seconds of the game, 51-49.

Junior Kuliath Kephart led all scorers in the game with 24 points (7 rebounds, 2 assists) while Landon Murry (So.) added 14 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Freshman Joe Gordon added 4 points and 4 rebounds and junior Kaden Burley had four points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 blocks. Kade Fast (Jr.) finished out the scoring with 3 points, 2 rebounds, and 4 assists. Will McKinney (Sr.) contributed with two assists and six rebounds. Rees McCullough (So.) and Grant Ehlers (Jr.) also played in the game as well.

The Bulldogs will travel to Warsaw on Friday, February 4th and will be home next on Tuesday, February 8th against Butler.
