By Head Football Coach Kelley Beckner

Friday night the ElDo Bulldogs traveled to Adrain for their Friday night contest. It was a tough fought battle with the away team falling short.

Once again, the 1st half was a defensive battle. Both teams scored just once.

Coach Kelley Beckner said, “There were moments in the 1st half we looked like a really good team, then there were hiccups to where I am not sure what we looked like. Against really good teams regardless of classification, you have to be able execute consistently and take advantage of good drives.”

The second half started out again as a battle with Adrian pulling ahead and playing very physical football.

Coach Beckner said, “We have to be able to figure out how to play four quarters of physical football. If we want to beat good teams, and become one ourselves, those are the little things that add up to the big picture.”

“I was extremely proud of the effort, we went down three scores and could very easily  have given up. But we didn’t. We went down and scored when we needed to score and executed two great onside kicks (recovering one) to give ourselves an opportunity to win the game. We fell short, but it is something we can use on film and learn from. We are so close, and at times are looking like the team we should be. But we have to execute consistently and that’s on me as their coach.”

This week, the Bulldogs travel to Harrisonville to play Summit Christian Academy.

“They are the best team we have seen so far on film and will be a great test to see where we are as a program,” the coach said.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. As there will be limited admittance,  please look for those announcements on the school’s website.
