On Saturday, October 26, the El Dorado Springs Middle School Cross Country team loaded up the bus to head to Wheatland for their last race of the season. The final race would be the Missouri Middle School Cross Country Championships which were held at Lucas Oil Speedway. The course would take them around the end of Lake Lucas, the jetboat lake, then onto the Monster Truck course where they would run and finish in front of the Monster Truck Grandstands. It is a pretty cool venue to finish their season on. The Championships are tailored after the high school State Championships, with the top 25 in each of 3 divisions medaling and the top 4 teams bringing home a plaque.

The 3 Divisions were Classes 1 and 2 combined, Class 3 alone, and Classes 4 and 5 combined. El Dorado Springs was in the Class 3 race.

The Girls race started off at 10:30. Grace Seitz led the way for the Lady Bulldogs, finishing 13th with a personal best time of 14:14.68. Also running for the middle school girls team were Alayna Coleman, Paityn Ridgway and Paisley Brown.

The boys race got started at 11:00. Rylan Coleman led the way for the Bulldogs, finishing 2nd with a personal best time of 11:34.84. Rylan had a pair of Bulldogs shortly behind with Carter Smith finishing 4th with a time of 11:44.59 and Tucker Orr finishing 8th with a time of 12:10.58. Camden Watts rounded out the medalists for the boys team finishing in 21st with a time of 12:51.63. These four were joined by Boston Lamb, Jaxen Smith, Preston Moore, Aiden Terry, Talon Parcel, Alex Melech, Bradley Smith and Camdynn Penington, who all ran well to find themselves in the end to be the Class 3 Missouri Cross Country Middle School Boys Team Champions. A job well done by each and everyone!

This day was an incredible day. Of our 16 athletes, 14 of them ran personal best times with one of the other two runners running a season best time. As a coach, you can’t ask for more from your team and have them respond any better. This was a great exclamation point to a great season. With that we wrap up the Middle School Cross Country Season! Job Well Done! Go Bulldogs!
