HERRIMAN CHAPEL CAMP – From the Herriman Chapel Camp archives; El Dorado Sun August 1942…

“The 15th annual Camp meet of at Herriman Chapel, eight miles southeast of El Dorado Springs, which began last Thursday, is still in progress this week and will end next Sunday night, Aug. 23.

The services are being largely attended and a number of families are maintaining camps on the grounds. There are six services daily, consisting of old time gospel singing and preaching by various ministers.

The services this year are being held in a new wooden tabernacle, 40×60 feet, recently completed, making an ideal setting for meeting of this kind. Meals are served in a large permanent dining hall, 24×60, which was built three years ago. Last Sunday, the attendance at the camp meeting was exceptionally large and 254 persons were served dinner at the noon hour.”

Again this year, we invite all to join us under the tabernacle as we celebrate 92 years of Herriman Chapel Camp. Our tradition of old time gospel singing and preaching continues to this day. Our Camp 2019, Camp Committee Chairman, Richard Beckham, will open the camp at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, July 28, with a special inspirational message. As our tradition, we well plan an old fashion gospel sing on Sunday evening, July 28, followed by an evangelistic message by Troy Keaton. This service will be followed by a time of fellowship and homemade ice cream and cake. Join us under the tabernacle as we kick off Camp 2019.
