IRIS BELLES ENJOY CHRISTMAS LUNCH – It was a grand Christmas Lunch. The December monthly meeting of the Iris Bells Garden Club met on Dec. 19, in the First Baptist Church, El Dorado Springs. A planned holiday lunch menu was brought in by members with the main dish being delicious turkey breast prepared by Mary McLeod. Homemade dinner rolls as well as mashed potatoes and gravy were enjoyed with all the trimmings and a buffet of desserts. It was a feast-ive occasion. A small (less than $5) gift exchange / game was part of the party as well as an ornament exchange. All in fun. After the “party” part of the meeting, the business portion came next and was called to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. The Roll Call, “What is my favorite Christmas flower?” was answered to include favorites such as Poinsettia, Amaryllis and the Christmas cactus. Secretary Ava Crotinger read the minutes of the November meeting. Reports from the committees were given. Melody Wilson, chairman of the Yearbook Committee, discussed the creation of the new member book. The yearbook for 2018 was presented and distributed. Melody and Jim Wilson have faithfully prepared the award winning Year Book for Iris Belles for many years and we’re planning for many more. Installation of officers for the coming term was presided over by Dorothy Foster, pPresident. Those officers are: President – Vicki Golubski; Ava Crotinger – vice president, Kathi Whitlock – secretary, Mary McLeod – treasurer. This month’s program which highlighted the beloved Amaryllis was given by Arda Faye Bruce. The meeting was adjourned at 4:30.
