TOPS Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in the United Methodist Church, 201 E Broadway on Thursday, Aug. 15, for their weekly weigh-in, and meeting.

Leader Susan Sandel called our meeting to order and Kay led us in singing “I Love My TOPS Club.” We said our TOPS & KOPS pledges.

Susan asked us all to look over our pledges and read and think about the words. Sometimes we get so used to it we do not think about the meaning.

Susan led us in roll call and walking report. Twenty-Two weighed in today and the chapter had a net Gain of 6.2. Best loser was Laura with a loss of 1.4 lbs.

Other good losses were; Linda W. lost 3.4 lbs. but was unable to stay for the meeting.

Steve lost 2.4 and is back in KOPS Leeway.

Susan received a letter from AC Claudia Gaylord. Fall Rally is Sept. 28 in Bolivar. Cost to attend is $17 per person. The contest paper work and payment and list of those attending must be to Claudia no later than Sept. 7. We must have payment and paperwork done by our September 7th meeting. Those going should pay our treasurer, Sue C and let Melissa know so she can put you on the list.

We are allowed to bring up to three raffle baskets. The decision as to bring a basket and how many was tabled till next week.

The teams in the summer contest must have a name for their team. Please come up with a name and let Melissa know.

Sheryl Ann reported on the Wood’s receipts. The winner of her contest was Juanita. We currently have $5,243.16 worth of receipts.

Marble game, Margie won the right to draw, but did not get the winning one. The pot was at $78.50 today.

We sang Happy Birthday to Sandi.

Linda H asked if anyone was interested in doing a baked potato luncheon in September.  Due to a lot of members being gone it was decided we will not do one in September.

Marilyn led us in a series of exercises.

For the program Marilyn had a for us, “Are you Addicted to Sugar? Most of us found we have a problem with sugar and need to be more aware of how much we consume.

Robbie brought the tasting dish today. It was chicken salad with horseradish in it.

Horseradish has several health benefits, it can prevent cancer, strengthen your immune system, treat urinary tract infections, treat sinus infections, relieve pain and inflammation, regulate your blood pressure and aids in digestion.

Thank you, Robbie, it was delicious.

With no other business meeting was adjourned with our motto “IF IT IS TO BE IT IS UP TO ME”.
