Dee McKinney, who lived in the Schell City area for several years, passed away Saturday, July 15, at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada, where she had been a resident for several years. She was a member of the Schell City United Methodist Church and a member of the Harwood –Schell City United Methodist Women before she entered the Care Center. Memorial service was held for her Tuesday, July 18, at the Church of God Holiness at El Dorado Springs.

Madalyn Crocker attended the Memorial service for Dee McKinney at the Church of God Holiness at El Dorado Springs Tuesday evening, July 18.

Several from the Harwood-Schell City area attended the El Dorado Springs Picnic Thursday, July 20 through Saturday, July 22. They said there was a large crowd all three nights.

Jewell and Helen Ellerman and a friend, Rosie Taylor, attended the Community Supper at the First Baptist Church at El Dorado Springs Sunday evening, July 23.

Rex and Linda Smith, who lived at Bolivar and Steve and Jerrie Smith of Ohio, stopped at Madalyn’s Kitchen Sunday morning, July 23. Their parents, the late Floyd and Hilda Smith, lived at Harwood before they passed away. They were here to just drive around the area where their parents lived before they passed away.

Church service was held at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday, July 23. Brother Jon Caudle Sr.’s sermon “Amazing Grace” was taken from Luke 1:67-79 and Luke 10:7-20.

The farmers in the Harwood and Schell City areas are in a real need for rain. The crops are beginning to look brown and it makes it a danger for fires.
