U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.) applauded the confirmation of Judge Neil Gorsuch to serve as an Associate Justice on the U.S. Supreme Court. Judge Gorsuch was confirmed by a vote of 54– 45, with Blunt voting in favor.

“Judge Gorsuch has made clear that the role of a judge is to rule on the law as it is written, not as he or she thinks it should be written,” Blunt said. “Throughout his confirmation process, Judge Gorsuch proved that he has the knowledge, temperament and judicial philosophy that make him an ideal successor to Justice Antonin Scalia. Judge Gorsuch’s confirmation to the Supreme Court is a victory for every American who believes the Constitution should be read and applied as our founders intended, and I look forward to seeing him sworn in.”

Blunt has backed Judge Gorsuch’s confirmation from day one.

In remarks on the Senate floor last week, Blunt cited Judge Gorsuch’s judicial experience, academic credentials and “well-qualified” rating from the American Bar Association to make the case for his confirmation.
