Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler (MO-04) released the following statement in response to the Air Force’s announcement of their plans to base the B-21 Raider at Whiteman Air Force Base.

“I am pleased and proud that today the Air Force officially announced their decision to base the B-21 Raider at Whiteman Air Force Base.  The Whiteman community, the B-2, and the airmen that execute and support the global strike mission have long been the respected sentinel to one of America’s unique, strategic capabilities and will continue to lead the way into the future.  In the coming months the service will take a detailed look at the existing infrastructure at Whiteman and begin to develop the specific plans needed to host this new aircraft.  The B-21 represents the next generation of our nation’s stealth global strike capability, and will build on the B-2’s admirable legacy.  I look forward to continuing to work with the Air Force to ensure our nation is able to deter threats and project power through the vital missions at Whiteman.”
