Ed Rountree was born July 2,1933. He passed away June 22, 2018 right into his eternal home Heaven. Ed was preceded in death by his father Joe and mother Flossie Rountree of El Dorado Springs, MO. He is survived by his loving wife Earlene of the home; daughter Cindy Barnes and husband Steve of Owasso, OK.; two grandson’s Shaun Barnes and friend Andrea Cole of Lawton, OK.; Dr. Chris Barnes and wife Ali of Broken Arrow, OK.; our first great granddaughter Linny Grace she will be 3 in October. Then big surprise! They had triplets first Sunday in May.  Also surviving is a sister Dorothy Hamby of El Dorado, MO.

Ed grew up in El Dorado Springs, MO where he met Earlene in high school. They married in 1953 and had 65 years of marriage this past May. They lived in Oceanside, CA while Ed was in the Marine Corp. then they settled in Tulsa, OK. Ed went to work at Douglas where he employed for two years, he then went to work at the post office as a mail man, he retied after 32 years. They had a son Douglas, he was born in 1955, he later passed away from cancer at the age of 54. A daughter was born in 1957 Cynthia Kay. Ed was a faithful follower for Jesus at Eastwood Baptist Church for 50 years.

He enjoyed golfing and shopping for Cowboy and Indians memorabilia and has two rooms decorated at home with his collection. Ed passed away at the Highlands Nursing Home in Owasso. He was a resident there since October 19, 2016.

A memorial service will be held at Eastwood Baptist Church, 948 S. 91st. East Ave at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2018, with Pastor Gordon Small officiating.  Arrangements and services were entrusted to Stanleys Funeral and Cremation of Tulsa.
