Larry Curtis Green, 68, Peculiar, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018, at his home, after a two-year fight with cancer. A Celebration of Life service was held Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018  in the First Baptist Church in Peculiar with inurnment on Sunday, Nov. 4, in the Clintonville Cemetery, El Dorado Springs.

Larry was born March 7, 1950, in Nashville, AR, the son of Lawrence and Imogene (Bookout) Green. The family moved to El Dorado Springs when Larry was in the seventh grade. He was a 1968 graduate of El Dorado Springs High School.

Larry was united in marriage to Linda June Smith on June 8, 1968, in the Baptist Church, El Dorado Springs. They moved to Iowa in 1976 and to Peculiar in 1982, where they raised three daughters.

Larry was a boiler builder, inspector and engineer for over 28 years, and worked for the State of Missouri and various insurance companies, including his current employer Liberty Mutual.

He was a member, Sunday School teacher and deacon of the First Baptist Church in Peculiar and was a member of Boilermakers Union Local #83 in Kansas City. He loved to hunt, fish, scuba dive, sing, drive and ride his motorcycle, but his real passion was taking care of his family.

Larry was preceded in death by his mother, and a brother, Cliff. He is survived by his wife, Linda Green, of the home; three daughters – Mytzi Stephens – Peculiar, Nichola (Joe) Engle – Smithville and Katrina (Fred) Caddell, – Raymore; two brothers, Mike Green – Springfield, and Terry (Sandra) Bookout – Guymon, OK; a sister, Regina (Dennis) Linn, -Des Moines, IA; six grandchildren – Curtis, Joey, Ronee, Spencer, Gavin, and Jolee, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
