Lucy Mae Garrett, 75, Nevada, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 21, at her home following a lengthy illness.  Lucy was born April 1, 1942, in Deerfield to Aldric Ellis and Virginia Aldeline (Harding) Pettibon.  On April 6, 1968, she married Leonard Garrett in Miami, OK, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 2007.

Lucy grew up in the Deerfield area and attended Deerfield Schools through the 10th grade.  She worked at the Nevada State Hospital for number of years. Lucy and Leonard owned and operated Family Affair Classic and Used Car business in Nevada, for several years. Her memberships included the Red Hat Society in Clinton and the Nevada Eagles Lodge.

Survivors include her children, Kim Neal and her husband, John, El Dorado Springs; Michelle Smith and her husband, William, Nevada; Lyndon Eberhard and his wife, Natalie, Nevada; Gregg Garrett and his wife, Christina, Nevada; and Tonia Eaton and her husband, Mike, Nevada; son-in-law Wayne Blunt, Nevada; 27 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Larry Pettibon and his wife, Tommy, Gower, and Cliff Pettibon and his wife, Donna; three sisters – Phyllis Stoddard and her husband, Ronnie, Nevada; Vicky Wolford and her husband, Cliff, Yoncalla, OR; and Lelia Hubbard and her husband Neal, Roseburg, OR; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and her friend, Richard Salmen, Osceola.  Lucy was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Rebecca Blunt; grandchildren, Tommy Blunt, Regina Blunt, Jessie Neal, Corey Martin, and Colby Martin; son-in-law, Gregg Jones; seven brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services began at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, in Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Pastor Terry Mosher officiating.  Interment will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery, Milo.
