Zana Ellen (Chambers) Blankenship, 83, of Walker, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018. Zana was born Dec. 11, 1934, in Sedalia, to Thomas E. and Elsie M. (Rains) Chambers. She graduated from Warsaw High School in 1953 and married Max Blankenship on July 1, 1953. To their union five children were born.

Zana retired from Nevada Rehabilitation in 2001. She spent many years in the health services industry as a CNA and med tech and missed her clients when she retired.

Preceding Zana in death were her husband, Max, of nearly 40 years; her parents; brother, Elwood; sister, Helen; son, Wayne; and infant daughter, Carol Ann.

Survivors include her children: Keith and fiancée, Pam, of Walker; Dennis and Debby of Nevada, and Diane of Walker. She also leaves behind the following grandchildren and their families: Heather of Albia, IA; Wendy of Grove, IA; David of Fayetteville, AR; Justin of Huntsville, AR; Caressa of Springfield; Abbi of Purdy;Cody of Clinton and Lester of Buffalo. Zana also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

A service will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 17, in Bland-Hackleman Chapel with Pastor Jack Daniel officiating. Sharon Pruitt and Sarah Morris will provide music. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home. The family received friends from 6-7 p.m Wednesday, May 16, in the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Keith Blankenship, Dennis Blankenship, David Blankenship, Justin Blankenship, Cody Blankenship and Lester Blankenship. Gary Piper will be an Honorary Pallbearer.
