Helaine Victoria Shaffer, 71, rural El Dorado Springs, passed away May 19, 2013, at Community Springs Healthcare. She was born June 1, 1941, to Benjamin and Florence (Larson) Lystrom in Fergus Falls, MN.
While in Minnesota, Lainy attended District 72 country school, Battle Lake High School and then graduated from Garden Grove High School in California.
On Feb. 20, 1959, she married Wesley Jay Shaffer and to this union three children were born – Charlotte, Anita and Charles.
While living in California Lainy and Wes were the owners/operators of two businesses and Lainy worked as an Amway Direct Distributor and for a period of time was a dental assistant. After selling their
Wilma Corene (Henry) Pippin, 83, passed away May 17, 2013, at Carthage Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Clinton on Jan. 10, 1930, to Daniel F. and Mary I (Boultinghouse) Henry. They moved to the Olympia area when she was a small child and she attended Barnes School until she started high school.
Wilma was married to Wallace L. Blystone in 1945 and moved to the Kansas City area. To this union three children were born.
Clyde Marquis Pasley Jr., 80, Marionville, was born on August 27, 1932, in Roscoe to Clyde Marquis and Ada Belle Crowder Pasley and he passed away at 1:48 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013, in Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
After graduating from college at Central Missouri State University and a stint in the United States Army, Clyde went back to farming and the Pasley Auction Company, a family business, before going into agricultural sales.
Joyce Arlene Maynard, 77, Nevada, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2013, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, following a brief illness. She was born March 27, 1936, in Sarcoxie to Russell Meister and Velma May Jones Meister. She was married to Charles William Maynard for 47 years and he preceded her in death on April 24, 2013.
Joyce was born and raised near Carthage. She graduated from high school in 1954, after which she worked as a secretary in St. Louis.
Bonnie V. Edde, 91, passed away at Mayo Clinic Hospital of Jacksonville, FL, on May 9, 2013.

Bonnie was born Nov. 11, 1921, to Martha and Amos Hubbard in Cedar County.

Bonnie Lou Short, 82, Nevada, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2013, in Barone Alzheimer’s Care Center, Nevada, following a lengthy illness. She was born on July 19, 1930 in El Dorado Springs, to Ira Collins and Alma Galvin Collins. She married Daniel Elwood Short on June 10, 1942 in Ft. Scott, KS, and he preceded her in death on April 3, 2005.
Bonnie was raised in Dederick. She attended Willow Grove School and graduated from El Dorado Springs High School. She
Leah Belle Cochran, 88, Missouri, passed away April 17, 2013, in Covina, CA. She was born March 27, 1925, to George and Bertha Cole, El Dorado Springs.
Belle was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was married to Claude Alvin Cochran for 50 years, until his passing in 1993. She worked in the aerospace industry before retiring to become a full-time grandmother and great-grandmother. Being raised in Missouri in the Oyer area, instilled a love for the outdoors.
Mary Lynn (Lucas) Winey, 84, a resident of Hingham’s Allerton House since 2008, passed away peacefully at the Harbor House Rehabilitation Center on March 20, 2013.
