Terry Lee McCallister, 56, El Dorado Springs, passed away Friday morning, June 7, 2013, after battling cancer. He was born Sept. 14, 1956, in Nevada, to Carl and Lucille McCallister. Terry graduated from El Dorado Springs High School in 1974.
In 1976, Terry married his high school sweetheart, Terri Lynn (Friar) McCallister. They were married 37 years until Terry’s passing. Together with Terry’s father, they ran Carl’s Gun Shop on the family farm before moving the business to downtown El Dorado Springs in 1993. To their union, two children were born, Joy Lynn McCallister and Jesse Lee McCallister. Terry was a devoted husband and loving father.

Harvey Eugene Cain, 89, El Dorado Springs, passed away on June 5, 2013, in Cedar County Memorial Hospital following a short illness. Harvey was one of 11 children. He was born on July 23, 1923, to Claude and Bernice Cain and raised in and around Cainsville.
He graduated from a local country school in the 8th grade in 1936 and entered into the Army in 1943 and was honorably discharged in 1944.
Mildred “Mickie” (Potter) Merchant, 93, passed away on June 7, 2013, in Joplin, at the home of her son, Don Potter. She was born Feb. 1, 1920, in the Bellamy area of Vernon County, to Joseph and Alta Shepherd.
Mickie attended Science Hill grade school and El Dorado Springs High School for two years.
She was united in marriage to Melvin Potter on Aug.
Brenda L. (Smith) Koca, 54, El Dorado Springs, passed away Wednesday, June 5 2013, at Community Springs Healthcare Facility in El Dorado springs.

Carolyn Ann (Duckering) Durnell, 69, El Dorado Springs, passed away on May 25, 2013, at her home following a courageous fight against cancer.
Carolyn was born Nov. 27, 1943 in Brownington, one of five children to Frank and Leliah Duckering.
She grew up in Buffalo graduating from Buffalo High School in 1961.

Carolyn Ann Durnell, 69, El Dorado Springs, passed away May 25, 2013, at her home. Funeral services begin at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 29, in Sheldon Funeral Home with burial in the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the High Hopes chapter of the American Cancer Society and the Nevada Regional Medical Center Hospice in care of the funeral home.

Helaine Victoria Shaffer, 71, rural El Dorado Springs, passed away May 19, 2013, at Community Springs Healthcare. She was born June 1, 1941, to Benjamin and Florence (Larson) Lystrom in Fergus Falls, MN.
While in Minnesota, Lainy attended District 72 country school, Battle Lake High School and then graduated from Garden Grove High School in California.

Wilma Corene (Henry) Pippin, 83, passed away May 17, 2013, at Carthage Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Clinton on Jan. 10, 1930, to Daniel F. and Mary I (Boultinghouse) Henry. They moved to the Olympia area when she was a small child and she attended Barnes School until she started high school.
Wilma was married to Wallace L. Blystone in 1945 and moved to the Kansas City area. To this union three children were born.
Flora Levonne Pruitt, 85, passed away Monday, Feb. 18, 3012.

Josephine Janet Cartwright, 42, was born in El Dorado Springs, on May 19, 1970, to her loving parents, Joseph and Grace Cartwright. She was the youngest of eight children. She passed away Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012.
