James Howard “Jim” Janes, 75, El Dorado Springs, passed away in Cedar County Memorial Hospital on Feb. 27, 2015. James was born March 1, 1939, in Wichita, KS, the son of Lonnie Butts and Glendine (Stires) Butts.

James graduated from El Dorado Springs High School.

James married Patricia Mohs in February 1959 in Milwaukee, WI. They were married seven years and to their union were born three children – Kimberly, Laurie and Mark.

    Jack was born in Springfield on Oct. 27, 2006, to Chad and Jill (Whitesell) Spangler. At age nine months, Jack and his parents moved to Nevada where he resided until his death.

    Belva Mae Pruitt, 75, a lifelong resident of El Dorado Springs, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015, at the Guest Home Estates in Fort Scott, KS. She was born Feb. 19, 1939, in El Dorado Springs the daughter of William and Edith Lackey.

    Belva married Bill Pruitt on June 23, 1956, in El Dorado Springs. They loved to travel and square dance. Bill preceded her in death in 2004.

    Evelyn Rebecca (Francis) Hendricks, 93, was born Oct. 21, 1921, in Odell, IL, to Frank and Stella Linda (Allen) Francis. Evelyn passed away peacefully at her home with her children Feb. 20, 2015.

    At the end of World War I and her father’s discharge from overseas service, Evelyn, her younger brother, Frankie, and parents moved to Roseburg, OR.

    Claude William Hall, 89, Butler, (formerly of Harwood) died Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, at Medicalodge of Butler.

    He was born April 19, 1925, to John and Mable Palmer Hall in Osborne, KS. Claude, one of three children, grew up in Osborne where he attended school.

    Barbara Anna Herther, 80, the daughter of Donald Dorce and Doris Emogene (Minor) Whetsel was born Nov. 30, 1934, near Clark, S. D., and passed from this life on Feb. 11, 2015, at her home.

    Barbara grew up on the family farm near Clark along with her seven siblings and graduated from Garden City High School in 1950. She went on to complete her education in 1952 when she received her teaching certificate.
