The St. Clair County Commission met Monday, Sept. 24, with Presiding Commissioner Robert Salmon, Northern District Commissioner Leroy Strope and Southern District Commissioner Gerald Williams present.
CART revenues received for September were $50,428.65.
Richard Grishow, Missouri Conservation Department, was in to discuss agreements on road maintenance.
St. Clair County Commission met Friday, Sept. 28, with Presiding Commissioner Robert Salmon and Northern District Commissioner Leroy Strope present and Southern District Commissioner Gerald Williams absent.
Note: Commissioner Williams was in earlier in the day to look over the bills that were due for payment.
Jason Taber, representing St. Clair County Youth Fair Board, was in inquiring about the status of the county’s lease from the Corps of Engineers on the Youth Fair Grounds.
Sheriff Ron Snodgrass reported a count of 117 federal inmates plus 14 county inmates. There are four county inmates housed in Vernon County.
Sheriff Ron Snodgrass met with the Commission for a budget review due to extra federal prisoner count. Discussed were repairs on windows and ground source air conditioning and heating units.
Presiding Commissioner Salmon made a motion to sell Lot 63, Block 29, Plat 6, Twin Oaks Harbor Subdivision for a selling price of $500. Motion carried.
Commissioner Strope made a motion to sell Lot 6 and 7, Block 71, Plat 18, Twin Oaks Harbor Subdivision for a selling price of $550. Motion passed.
Courthouse custodian Steve Jones informed the Commission he has almost completed painting the walls in the recorder’s office. Also, he has finished deep cleaning the uncarpeted floors on the second story.

The Commission and Road and Bridge Supervisor Cole Cochran discussed tree debris over road, road conditions on NE 51 Rd and equipment repair.
The Commission and Hillsdale Special Road District Representative Alan Haverland had a conversation regarding contract mowing for the road district.
Information was received that Appleton City will hold a public hearing on Nov. 14, 7 p.m. at the Forest Park Building. This is the Third Amended and Restated Appleton City Downtown Improvement Tax Increment Financing Plan (TIF) and adoption of a fourth phase of the Redevelopment Project.
Austin Mount and Emily Wilson, representing Kaysinger Basin Regional Planning Commission, informed the Commission that KBRPC had sent in a proposal for the Senior Center project.
Emily Wilson and the Commission discussed the Enhanced Enterprise Zone (EEZ) meetings. It was concluded that meetings should be scheduled at noon or thereafter and meeting places would be rotated throughout the county.
Rick Ledgerwood, representing H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation, brought in a signed contract from the State for the storm shelters at the Scout Reservation.

The Commission discussed employee health insurance coverage, on a consortium plan. This plan was recently presented by Decker Agency and Associated Companies, Inc.
Commissioner Strope made a motion to nominate presiding Commissioner Salmon as MAX Conference Delegate to represent St. Clair County. Motion carried.
Bud Hayes was in with paper work regarding environmental review pertaining to Friends of St Clair County Senior Center project.
The Commission and County Clerk Debbie Peden reviewed the current budget status.

A meeting was held with elected officials to discuss delegates to the MAX Conference in November. St. Clair County is allowed a total of five delegates. Presiding Commissioner Salmon made a motion to appoint Commissioners Leroy Strope and Gerald Williams, Recorder Patricia Terry and County Clerk Debbie Peden to serve as MAC Conference Delegates for St. Clair County. Commissioner Strope seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Presiding Commissioner Salmon was appointed as a delegate on Oct. 15, 2012.
The Commission, County Clerk Debbie Peden and Sheriff Ron Snodgrass reviewed budgets for the Sheriff’s office.
