A Fort Scott, KS, man was hurt Saturday, Jan. 19, in a two-vehicle collision on Hwy. 54, half-a-mile east of Fort Scott. Franklin D. Stephens, 79, was taken to Mercy Hospital in Fort Scott for treatment.

Kansas Highway Patrol troopers say the collision happened shortly before noon when an eastbound Buick Park Avenue, driven by Stephens, entered the westbound lane, headed east, and hit the right front quarter panel of a westbound Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Sammie E. Harris, 86, Jerico Springs.

Neither Harris nor his passenger, 42-year-old Danny Swartz, 42, El Dorado Springs, was hurt.
