Harper pleads guilty to goat case charges

Hunter D. Harper, El Dorado Springs, pled guilty Jan. 30, 2013, in Cedar County Circuit Court to eight charges in connection with the December 2011 killing and torture of goats which were left on the El Dorado Springs High School softball field.

On Charges 1-5 and 8, Harper received a suspended imposition of the two year sentence and was placed on two years unsupervised probation to start Jan. 30, 2013, and end Jan. 30, 2015.

On Charges 6 and 7, both for trespassing-2nd degree, he was fined $100 on each charge.

The other charges were: Charges 1, 2 and 3 – violating provisions regarding disposal of dead animals; Charges 4 and 5 – animal neglect or abandonment; and Charge 8 – animal abuse.
