ST. CLAIR COUNTY SHERIFF

Sheriff Scott Keeler reported deputies made one arrest and took three stealing reports during the week of March 25-April 1, 2019.

Warrant Arrests

Ronald Hines- On March 26, Ronald Hines, 33, Branson, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class D felony possession of a controlled substance and a class D misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety.

The warrant comes after a St. Clair County deputy performed a traffic stop on the vehicle that Hines was driving for a moving violation. After initial contact, the deputy asked if there was anything illegal in the vehicle. Hines gave the deputy consent to search the vehicle and then revoked it before the deputy could grab his gloves. A K9 unit was called to the scene. The K9 performed an exterior sniff test of the vehicle and did alert to the odor of narcotics. During the search of the vehicle, a broken glass pipe was recovered with a white crystal like residue in it. Also located were five hide-a-cans. Inside two of the cans were plastic zip lock bags containing a white crystal like substance. The evidence did field test positive for methamphetamine.

Stealing in Osceola

On March 30, a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to the Osceola RV Park in reference to stolen snagging poles.

Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Shannon Lawrence. Lawrence stated when he went to bed; he left his three new snagging poles in the rod holders on the back of his boat. When he woke in the morning, the poles were gone. Lawrence described the poles as two were yellow and one was black. Two had Shakespeare reels and one had a Penn 309 reel. Total estimated loss value is $400.

Stolen Fuel in Appleton City

On March 29, a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to a residence on NW 901 Road in reference to stolen fuel. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with John Rodick. He stated that sometime during the night between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., someone came onto his property and siphoned gas out of two of his farm trucks. Rodick estimated 25 gallons of fuel were stolen. Estimated loss value is $62.00.

Evidence was collected from the scene and a request for prosecution was signed.

Stealing in Appleton City

On March 27, a St. Clair County deputy took a report at the Sheriff’s Office in regards to stealing. Tisha Jackson reported some farm equipment was stolen from her deceased father’s property between Feb. 8 and Feb. 25, 2019.

Jackson stated her father had passed on Feb. 26. She stated while going through an inventory of her father’s equipment, she noticed several items missing. Items missing are a 5ft.x 8ft. pull behind 300 gallon smoker, one Boss 25 ton log splitter, one Husqvarna 24in. chainsaw, and one Husqvarna 22in. walk behind weeder. Total value of loss items is not known at this time. A suspect has been named.
