The annual Easter Egg Hunt and Easter Breakfast will be held March 30 at the Walker Community Building and Park. The breakfast starts at 7 a.m. and ends at 11 a.m. when the Easter Egg Hunt begins. Breakfast will be served for $2.
Tracy and James Washburn, Declan, Corbin and Jaycee hosted a party at their home Sunday for the seventh birthday of Corbin, and the 56th birthday of her dad, Bob Lee Clinton. Cake and ice cream were served. Attending besides the hosts were Bob Lee and Lavina Clinton, Bob and Laura Clinton, Sue and Shawn Havens, Nicole Robert, Shaylyn Robert, Kailee Heckadon, Robert and Leesa Coulter, Jessica Barnett and children, Alexis, Tristan, Justin and Tanner. Corbin wants to say, “Thank you to everybody for the presents.”
Over the Spring Break Week… Monday 22 youth and six adult sponsors from Walker Christian Church traveled to Maranatha Bible Camp for a service day. They completed various jobs around the camp and built a gaga ball pit. Thursday evening Crystal Burch and Kate Burch, along with Teresa McCoy hosted several young ladies from Kate’s basketball team for a sleepover. Those were Alexis Leighty, Madison Shipley, Madison Hyder, Sarina Stewart and Stacy Pennington. Friday evening the Davidson family hosted a bonfire and meal. Attending were Dustin, Jennifer, Jacob and Emily, Courtney Justice and friend, Karl, Tim, Misty and Clayton Bogardus, Jered, Crystal, Kate and Cole Burch, Josh Bachand, Amanda Moyers, Donna Davidson, Richard, Jennifer and Paige Webb, Jason, Kelly, Lauren, Bryce, Olivia and Cody Eaton, Shawn, Amanda, Sarina, Kimber, and Ruger Eaton and Teresa McCoy. Sunday afternoon there was a Walker 4-H beef meeting at David and Michelle Bruce’s home. Beef exhibitors attending were Hadley Bruce, Corey Graham, Kate Burch, Cara Comstock and Emma Bruce. Later Sunday there was a swine meeting at Jered and Crystal Burch’s were Crestin Lusk, Hadley Bruce, Emma Bruce, Emily Davidson, Jacob Davidson, Hannah Horn, Cara Comstock, Cale Comstock and Kate Burch.
Guests of Lloyd and Lois McGraw over the weekend were Alisha and John Jean and baby Braxton, Shelia Cameron and Jacob Cameron. John and Julie McGraw and Jackson hosted a supper for them Saturday evening in their home in Nevada.
T.V. and Patsy Yount of Liberal visited Betty and Norman Radde Saturday evening.
David Foreman spent Saturday with Charles and me and helped his grandpa work on an old car.
The community expresses sympathy to the Rex Odem family. His funeral was held Monday.
Ernest Nikodim and Jared Witter attended church with Mike and Kathy Newman and enjoyed the fellowship dinner at the First Baptist Church in Schell City Sunday.
Chas and Steve Morgan and kids visited Bob and Jane Hutchison Thursday afternoon.
Katie Budd and Brice were Charles and my breakfast guests Friday. Brice spent the day with us.
David Foreman, Brooklyn and Carter went to Springfield Friday to the zoo and Fantastic Caverns on Brooklyn’s school field trip.
Glen and Alberta Hays went to Springfield for an Official Inspection with the OES. Pat and Joe Willis from Nevada went with them. They stopped at Bolivar at Smiths on the way home and had supper.
The Walker Rural Fire Department will host a Hog Roast on April 6.
