Two new spring babies have arrived

The Walker Rural Fire Department will host a Hog Roast on April 6.

The annual Easter Egg hunt and Easter breakfast were held in spite of a rainy day. There was a small crowd in attendance.

The Walker Christian Church hosted an Easter Sunrise Service and breakfast followed by an Easter Egg hunt for the children. The new classrooms were on display and made a nice addition to the church.

John and Patty Hallam went to Kansas City over the weekend to spend time with their children and grandchildren and celebrate March birthdays. One of their granddaughters came home with them to spend a few days.

Spending the Easter weekend with their parents, Marty and Rich Patton, were Dexter Patton and Tony and Ashley Patton and Jessa of Overland Park, KS, and Jenna and Kris Lowry of Joplin. They had a birthday party Saturday with pizza. Don and Edith Stockstill joined them for that and for lunch on Easter Sunday.

Wednesday afternoon visitors of Bob and Jane Hutchison were Alice Claypool, Pella, IA, and Lois Herbst of El Dorado Springs.

Laura and Josh Willson, Jackson and Reid, Colleyville, TX, spent the Easter weekend with her parents, Jenise and Jerry Burch. Other visitors were Jered and Crystal Burch, Kate and Cole.

Julie and Kent Gardner hosted a barbecue for Jodee and Jeff Fanning Sunday.

Donna Davidson hosted an Easter dinner and egg hunt Sunday at her home. Guests were Dustin and Jennifer Davidson, Emily and Jake, Ali Davidson and Tyler and Chelsea Davidson.

Doug Keightley and friend from Oregon visited in the home of Dan and Donna Keightley near Harwood. Gathering to visit were Tony and Amanda Keightley, Chris and Christine Keightley and family, Jason Keightley and family, Oleta Keightley—who was given a surprise birthday party that day, Jessica and Dustin Terry and Aiden, James and Tina Keightley and Vince Keightley.

Bobby and Karen Hutchison, Walnut Grove, spent Saturday night with his parents, Bob and Jane Hutchison.

Frank and Renee Weisensee have had a busy two weeks. March 18, daughter, Terri, and husband, Chad Phillips, presented them with a new grandson, Conner Alexander, at Pittsburg, KS. On March 21, they made a trip to Granite City, IL, where on Frank’s birthday, March 22, another daughter, Toni, and husband Jonathan Borce, presented them with a granddaughter, Jacqueline Nicole. They made it home before the snowstorm and Renee went to Pittsburg, KS, where she spent the week helping care for Conner.

Gathering for Easter dinner Sunday at the home of Frank and Renee Weisensee were Terri and Chad Phillips and baby Conner, Pittsburg, Patty and Glen Collins and family, Debra Brown, Shirley Norwood, Terry and Linda McKinney, Seth and Sarah, Mary Ann Mitchem, Lisa and Lance Christie, Regan, Hayden and Grace, Buck and Christi Mitchem, Forest and Shiloh, Rob and Kristina Weisensee, Michael, Christopher, Amber and Rebecca, Jennifer Gilpin, Caleb, Abigail, Emilia, Katrina, and Luke and Paul Scougal.

Gilbert and Eleanor Willson and Robert and Barbara Cubbage attended a show in Fort Scott last Sunday and ate at Chicken Mary’s near Pittsburg.

Bob Lee and Lavina Clinton spent Easter with the Bright family in Lamar.

Sympathy is expressed to the family of Florence Covington Flynn. Her funeral was Saturday. Florence was a member of the Walker High School graduating class of 1946 and always had a smile and something funny to say.

Lavonne Covington Messick is recovering after surgery in a Springfield hospital.

Eleanor Willson spent last week in Archie with her grandchildren while their parents, Rob and Allison Willson, took a spring trip.

Having Easter supper at the home of Glen and Alberta Hays were their sons and families-Andy and Tammy Hays, Payton and Haley and Russell and Carisa Hays, Quinton and Quade.

The Easter Bunny made a trip to the home of Bob and Jane Hutchison Sunday afternoon. Present for Easter dinner were Ryan Wallace, Springfield, Mandy and Nash Bronson, Lamar, Geoff and Bethany Stewart, Grady and Sophie, Debbie and Denny Wallace, Valerie Hardy, Paxton and Jayna, Arlene and Mike Good and Rilie and Eric Good. Afterwards, the Easter Bunny conducted an Easter Egg hunt for the kids.

Linda and Bob Majors attended the Majors family reunion at the home of Doug and Jody Majors near Taberville over the weekend.

Matt and Meghan Martin, Isla and Sam of Council Bluff, NB, spent the Easter weekend with his parents, Diane and Allen Martin.

The farm sale of Jack and Sharon Wallace was well attended Saturday in spite of the rainy weather.

Visiting Elnora Wallace this week were her granddaughter, Caitlyn Wallace, who was home for Easter from college at Marysville, another granddaughter, Danielle McWilliams, and Jack and Sharon Wallace, and Patty Hendrix.

Chuck Foreman, Kearney, and Tim Foreman, who attends college in Columbia, spent Wednesday night and Thursday with Charles and me.

Easter Sunday dinner guests of Charles and me were Vonnie Main, Lamar, Chet and Marla Foreman, Regan Kannady, David and Betsy Foreman, Brooklyn and Carter, David Souza, Wendy and Brandon Conley and Garrett, Coltin Wilson, Katie and Brice Budd, and Christine and Corey Graham. An Easter egg hunt was held in the afternoon.
