Roger Ray Swager, 75, of El Dorado Springs, passed away Friday, July 24, 2020. He was born on Jan. 7, 1945, to James Howard and Zula (Hornbeck) Swager near Caplinger Mills.

Roger grew up around Caplinger and Stockton and he was a member of the Mt. Enon Missionary Baptist Church. After graduating from high school in Stockton, he worked for Hallmark Cards in Kansas City.

Roger moved back to the farm that he loved so much, taking care of cattle and working in the hay field. While living on the farm he worked at Superior Gearbox. He then moved to a small farm near El Dorado Springs where he played on his tractor. He also worked and retired from Precision Machine Parts in Nevada.

To Roger there was no sport fit to watch other than dirt track racing and NASCAR.

Survivors include his children – Teresa Simpson and husband, Jerry, of El Dorado Springs; Carl Swager and wife, Michelle, of El Dorado Springs; Amy Gorman and husband, Travis, of Fulton, KS; and Abby Swager of Bella Vista, AR; grandchildren – Justin Swager and Kim, Derrick Swager and April, Samantha Wrecker and Mike, Cody Simpson and Janna, and Blake Simpson; and great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Shyera, Maverick, Hinley, Quinn, Kate, Kenzi, and Kyler.

A graveside service for Roger Swager will be held in Clintonville Cemetery at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Brent Bland officiating under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
