On Monday, Sept. 23, the JV Dogs hosted the Clinton Cardinals, and won 16-14.
Ethan Dubois scored an 8-yard touchdown and Riley Boyd passed to Landen Smith for the two-point conversion. Riley Boyd also passed to Jacob White for a 78-yard gain in the game. Riley Boyd hooked up with Landon Smith on a 57 yard touchdown pass and Gage Miller had the two-pt conversion.
JV Offensive Coach David Rogers said, “The offense did a really good job in the second half and I am really happy with the boys and the way they played tonight.”
On defense, Ethan Dubois blocked a punt. Drew Carpenter had two interceptions. Ethan Dubois lead the JV Dogs with nine tackles followed by Jacob Holder and Logan Ellison each having six solo tackles. Kelly Rice had five solo tackles. JV Defensive Coach Brian Koehler said, “This was a hard fought game and I am really pleased on how far we have come as a team.”
The JV Dogs are 3-1 and will play Nevada next Monday at Nevada.
FIRST TD – JV Freshman Running Back Ethan Dubois (No. 33) busted through the left side of the line and went into the end zone for the first touchdown against Clinton Monday evening.
SACKED – Late in the game, Cody Long, Ethan Dubois and Jacob Holder sacked the Clinton quarterback dealing the Cardinals a major setback.
SECOND JV TD – JV Quarterback Riley Boyd lofted the ball over the defenders to Landen Smith who took it in stride and beat the fluttering Cardinals to the end zone.
GAME WINNING TWO-POINT CONVERSION – JV Running Back Gage Miller got open giving JV Quarterback Riley Boyd an easy target for the pass for a two-point conversion that put the JV Dogs ahead 16-14 with about three minutes left in the game Monday night at home.
