The storm that moved through Saturday, Dec. 4, built up ice on trees and power lines throughout the Sac Osage territory. Electrical outages started as branches broke and weighted lines came down. Storm outages rose to a height of about 2,200 and all available crews were called into work.
Restoration continued through the night. At a little after 2 a.m. Sunday morning our power provider had a storm related outage on a transmission line that put another 1,900 Sac Osage members out of power. The substation was restored shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday.
Sac Osage crews continued to work Sunday, and were assisted by two crews from Osage Valley Electric Cooperative, one crew from the Butler branch and one from the Clinton branch. All outages were restored by Sunday afternoon.
