Durham School Services’ facility in El Dorado Springs proudly announces its team will receive the Fleet Excellence Award for an outstanding bus inspection from the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP). Durham operates 18 buses for El Dorado Springs R-2 school district.
“We take great pride maintaining our buses to the highest standard to ensure passenger safety,” said Kevin Rhine, region manager for Durham. “Every school day, our drivers do a multi-point inspection before and after each route to check for maintenance issues that need immediate attention. In addition, all buses are subject to comprehensive preventive maintenance inspections at least three times a year; that is above and beyond government requirements. All inspections include everything from addressing cosmetic issues to checking tires, brakes, engine performance and suspension.”
During the bus inspections, the MSHP checks approximately 100 items, including the tires, brakes, doors, hatches, air compressor, seats and seatbelts.
“Safety is our top priority at Durham,” continued Rhine. “I am extremely proud of the maintenance team for their dedication to putting the safest vehicles on the roads. Achieving this award takes a lot of hard work and it showcases our commitment to the safety of our passengers, drivers and the general public.”
