Some of the best available employee training in the Springfield area is local, affordable, and research-based according to David Burton, county program director for University of Missouri Extension in Greene County.
“If you regularly offer programs for your employees, either as part of ongoing professional development or as an employee incentive plan, let me recommend an affordable and local resource for research-based educational programming that you may not be aware of or have overlooked in the past: University of Missouri Extension,” said Burton.
Extension specialists from Greene County (and the adjoining counties) can provide outstanding educational programs to Springfield area businesses and organizations. Program examples include topics like business writing, “RentSmart” training for landlords and tenants, various types of gardening workshops, presentations on personal nutrition, safety and disaster preparedness, making your money count, even Herrmann Brain Dominance workshops.
“Our programs can meet your individual needs on a variety of subjects and our fees are reduced in comparison to other available options,” said Burton.
Information about the available programs can be found on the Greene County Extension website (extension.missouri.edu/greene) under “plans and reports” or under the homepage headline “Programs for Employee Training in Greene County.”
The online packet outlines the various programs available from different MU Extension specialists in the Springfield area. Specialists can be contacted directly or schedule trainings.
“If you prefer to get your employees away from the building for training, we can accommodate most meeting needs at the Botanical Center,” said Burton.
For 100 years, MU Extension has engaged Missourians in relevant programs based on University of Missouri research. The year 2014 marks the centennial of the Smith-Lever Act, which formalized the Cooperative Agricultural Extension Service, a national network whose purpose is to extend university-based knowledge beyond the campus.
Specialists with MU Extension offer educational programs that make lifelong learning fun and help people help themselves.
