SORSEA HOSTS SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS

Sac Osage Retired School Employees Association hosted a dessert reception for the recipients of the 2022 Nellie Nicholas Scholarship. Seven students were awarded scholarships this year. They were invited to a reception for themselves and family members where each student introduced themselves and talked about their decision to enter the education field. Retired teachers also voiced their love of the profession and their years of experience in the teaching field.
Nellie Nicholas was a dedicated SORSEA member and left a lasting legacy with her annual scholarship. Since its inception in 2013, over $192,000 has been awarded to students from the El Dorado Springs R-2 and Christian Schools. The scholarship is for those wishing to pursue a profession in teaching.
