Local Students Attend Rep. Hartzler’s Youth Leadership Summit

Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler hosted her eighth annual Youth Leadership Summit on Oct. 21 at State Fair Community College in Sedalia.

More than 120 students from 24 participating high schools in Missouri’s Fourth Congressional District attended the event, including El Dorado Christian School.

Former Vietnam POW Colonel John Clark, Smart Approaches to Marijuana’s Jordan Davidson, and Motivational speaker Dr. Miki Collier spoke to students about leadership and making a difference in challenging times. The four-hour summit also included group activities and a special Missouri trivia session.

The sixth-term lawmaker from Harrisonville previously taught family and consumer sciences in Lebanon and Belton and enjoys engaging with local students by hosting this annual event.
